Sydney! These are wonderful. I love to see how you have changed and shifted and morphed your style since the last time I saw your work. You have kept some aspects like some of the bright and unusual colors/color combinations, while toning them down just a bit. You have added the most wonderful three-dimensional textures by incorporating fabric-- one of your loves. It looks like you are really playing with application techniques and layering, which is great because it shows process and time and dimension.
I think that you are using white space well. In the past, I feel like you were filling the canvas so full of movement and color and shapes that the viewer was a little overwhelmed. But it seems that the way you are leaving lighter or less defined spaces is allowing for some breathing room that is so necessary and really just working.
The second piece you have posted here is by far my favorite. I think the movement and playfulness is the most confident and sure of itself. Maybe I just love it's geometry or assymetry or defined lines. Maybe it's that little swirl of netting at the top, or that bit of green. I just love it.
