Afternoon Project

It's autumn and I was inspired. What do you think....

I am interested in how it will change as it dries.

I know, weird huh. It felt very leathery. I almost had to put it down at one point because it was still very alive (unlike normal leather), but it helped that it was vegetable alive and not animal alive.

It's starting to dry and the skin is turning darker -- almost black -- and pulling away from the stitching (so the stitches are becoming more loose). Hmm.

are you documenting its death?

I was thinking about this piece today...
I can just imagine your process...you sitting there eating a pomegranate, then the inspiration comes...you listen...and the result is beautiful. Even if it didn't happen that way, if I were you I would continue to act on your creative impulses because I mean...you're a real talent and these quick projects (I am assuming it didn't take you that long to make this piece -like a day or two) are more then just studies when they are done with your hand.

You should be very happy with this piece, it's quite lovely; and I am obnoxiously proud of you.
