not art, but life related.

I have just sent my acceptance email to the Toldeo family in Madrid and will be living with this curly-haired wonder for the year come September. María, Jimena's mother, is a curator for a contemporary non-profit art organization and owns-ahem-over 2000 of Goya's prints. Her husband Ignacio is an architect and comes home every day to meet his wife for lunch in their flat in el centro de Madrid.

"María, I've been thinking, been thinking about moving 'cross the sea maybe, somewhere cold and magnificent."

People We Love...

So lets make some work about this shall we? Jamie Declares NESBIT...(and in the 3rd person even). By Saturday the 21st at high noon everyone should post some images of one finished piece with an artist statement. Now...I said 'by' the 21st so you can always post early.

The idea here is to show this work so lets give each other good crits. Huzzah! Call me if you and and qualms or questions. Or just call. I have no one...well there's Kenobi.

Misc.

If you haven't checked it in a while (because I don't post that often...), you may find some interesting posts and pictures on my blog since I have just finished a ten-day art-making challenge with a friend here in Portland. It was so fantastic, and I think we should do one soon (or something like it).

Also, I'm going to Hawaii. Hot hot Hawaii. Yes. I wish you could all come with me. Maybe someday...

Interesting and creepy and lovely all at the same time:

eleanor, chauffeur.

Post-graduation life here consists of: Driving a depressingly large vehicle for pseudo-boss lady, all the time passing gas stations advertising low octane levels available for $4.30 a gallon. Zerox copying children's books of Native American reservations, who would not be in support of single-sided copies I am sure, and the California missions.
Food shopping at Whole Foods, were the food is oh so attractive, and organic (whatever that really means), and where you meet cute butchers who talk to you about how their brother went through your University. And then, as you wish him to run after you with his phone number, you realize that you can do better than that.

working

no computer to edit these just yet but here are some images of what I was doing at starbucks while I should have been making coffee.
