The People We Love, part 1.

This is not totally finished, but I don't really know where to go from here. Square? Circle? Framed? Quilted? Any suggestions?

Started with a drawing:

awesome libby! very lovely. fabric choice is great. the wee hand is stitched perfectly. you should show it to kayo.

I like both pieces very much; however, I think I prefer the drawing. This remind me of the 'oh shit man' baby of old.

ideas conjured up from the bottom of my bong:

stretch it over a canvas? perhaps a circle canvas...or frame it...I wouldn't center it in the frame...I don't know why. perhaps stitch other things onto the background...things molly-ish...right now she is floating. do you want her to float? or have her in a location...umm uh what if you stitched a tiny city under her feet? Mollzilla. That would be fucking awesome.

perhaps walking across hot coals?

Hmm, nice thoughts. I like the idea of some other objects. Mollzilla is actually quite accurate as she is often making crazy demonic growling noises and is rather aggressive (for an eight-month-old).

I think I will show it to Kayo. Actually, that makes me very happy that you say that. Very.

In some ways I favor the drawing too, which is a little shitty seeing as how I put hours into the freaking stitchery piece and the drawing took all of two minutes. God. I'm thinking about copying the drawing and doing a watercolor. Maybe I will just keep doing different interpretations of the drawing until I create one that is totally awesome.

Oooh, then I will have a whole slew of molly-versions that could go together. Eh? Hmm.

what a lovely little surprise when i opened up my nesbit page! libby, i love this and think you could take it in many different directions and would like to see a series....a crit you get a lot but what the hell, it is true.

i personally am more interested in the fabric version....though they are interesting together...i love that she is floating/there is no context.......i almost want it to be a pillow...then you could hang it somehow.....but then again i always want your work hanging.....keep going really really!!

and...i really need you to hold me. i think a road trip is in order...monterray and then portland. seriously. fall 2008.
